  1. went through a phase of collecting tin toys, until I realised how much of a pain they are to keep dust free, they just don't fit in the laminator :(

  2. I try and collect vintage photos of other people! Which might sound strange but they are fun to look at and see them thar ye olde days.
Found a few at a car boot sale a few months ago. The person had no idea who they were of and said he found them inside a small trunk he had in his attic.

  3. for a little white, i collected milk jugs from cafes. they're run of the mill, & i didn't "borrow" too many. there's a little collection from across the uk on my window sill.

  4. I have the spirit of a collector, but like way too many things to be able to dedicate myself entirely to just one thing... Plus I don't have enough space to keep EVERYTHING I would like to own from all the different things I like: books (especially children, comics and/or illustrated), fabric, stamps, graffiti pictures, buttons, notebooks...

  5. i found a lovely little deer with a broken foot in a charity shop in cornwall, and took him home to look after. i then found another deer ornament in a vintage shop.. and then yet another at a boot sale.. and now my deer collection has got so out of control i have to stop myself from buying any more! here is a small sample of how my room is slowly turning into that of a grandma's..

  6. I am the quintessential pack rat... hording useless trinkets is a true passion of mine! I love filling my environment with anything kitschy and I currently have a soft spot for vintage cross stitches and needle points. Unusual porcelain figurines and anything to do with pressed flowers are a few more examples of my endless need to collect!

  8. I guess now I don't particular stick to one theme, anything kitsch catches my eye :D If you can see on my blog, you'd spy some of the collection :D. I guess of late, Ive started collecting more lady figurines. And, still have my giant collection of pig related items, magnets, soft toys, Japanese cartoon pig figures, still being cherished! I've never really came up with an explanation of why i chose pigs. I love ephemera! Vintage/kitsch such an inspiration for vintage projects, so inspiring, and reflects the bi-gone days, that I wish I could make a time machine and travel back! Maybe a mixture of ephemera fused together will create sparks, mix that with an old clock and calender! You think it might work? ;)

I think part of being a collector, is sharing your findings with like minded people, the love of rummaging for the next piece of the collection. Know matter how big or small, and nothing as good, as a fab find of a bargain! :D

  10. ooooh, you know what I love love love? Vintage advertising, tin posters with rusty bits and barely legible words. I love collecting those. And dog collars too ... for my dog, of course. But does a beautiful brown lab really need 36 collars? I say yes. There are so many out there. A girl can't be limited to one. I'm a collector of all sorts of things: pens that I like to write with, japanese papers, greeting cards from other countries. The list goes on. But this is getting verbose.
The gist is this: I like pretty much all stuff. I want to have lots of it. If it has character, I probably fell in love with it lifetimes ago. And now I would really love your stuff too. Pretty please?

  11. Woo! I would love part of your collection. I collect lots of things and 'feel sorry' for lots of ornaments in charity shops and boot fairs! I collect egg cups too. I made the (sort of) mistake of telling people and now people buy me them for every occasion, from every holiday and whenever one is spied in a junk shop anywhere. I have quite a lot!
